Back

I’m back in Kansas City, home from Virginia.

And what a lovely time it was. I met some good people and got some good things done.

Some of the more remarkable work I did involves a couple of stories I wrote first drafts of at the start of the pandemic, then hung from my refrigerator and didn’t touch for two years. I forgot what they were about.

I took those drafts to VCCA with me, and typed them out. One of them was about a man whose daughters bring home a strange creature from the woods. I’d written the fist half of the story, and this week I wrote the second half.

Life is full of mystery.

Maybe it’s not. I don’t know.

But I’m back in the world, ready to live the rest of my life like a normal person. We’ll see how long that lasts.
