The Leaves on the Treaves

I may go out today, to a place that's not my house.

I've seen announcement, though, about an immersive experience that makes the art of Vincent Van Gogh into projections that you can walk around in. No actual art is involved in it, only projections of expensive paintings by someone who worked really hard on the actual paintings, which are not really part of the experience.

Please, when I have been dead for many decades, and people talk and think about me and my work and probable mental illness all the time, which is of course inevitable, someone please make an immersive Weird Pig experience.

Make a lot of money from it. Immerse the viewing public in my work while also distancing them from it somehow.

WRITING PROMPT: Someone goes to the Van Gogh immersive experience and finds after they leave that the experience won't go away. Wherever they go they are trapped in the Van Gogh experience. The story ends when they saw off their own ear and send it to someone. How do you get them to that climax? To whom do they send the ear?
